Description

The Leave Administrator will be responsible for management of all claims, including worker’s compensation, auto liability, and general liability. They will ensure timely processing of claims and gathering all documentation necessary to process claim with third party administrator. They will also be responsible for all tracking all leaves of absences. Ensures all information for leaves of absences is completed and processed with third party leaves provider.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Evaluates accident reports, ensuring the timely processing of medical bills and workers’ compensation benefits; coordinates with third party administrator to provide necessary documentation.
  • Collects facts and data regarding auto accidents, injuries/illness, etc. and coordinates with third party administrator.
  • Participates in bi-annual claims review with third party administrator to review open claims.
  • Documents and keeps updated files for all work injuries, auto accidents, and generality liability claims
  • Works with the Company’s third party administrator to oversee the claim process; provides wage statement and other information as requested
  • Oversees internal claim process and works with SVP, Head of People & Organization to approve reserve increases and settlement approvals
  • Attends Captive Insurance seminars bi-annually.
  • Coordinates post-accident testing process for employees; and reviews monthly invoice for processing
  • Issues disciplinary actions for preventable accidents
  • Reviews motor vehicle notifications and issues disciplinary actions for motor vehicle violations.
  • Completes annual MVR reviews for all CDL drivers.
  • Completes annual Occupational Injuries Survey for all locations
  • Manages leaves of absence tracking spreadsheet and keeps updated
  • Responsible for issuing premium repayment letters to employees that were out on LOA.


Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree in business administration, human resources or other related field; equivalent work experience can be substituted.
  • Working knowledge of the Workers’ Compensation system and other applicable state/federal statutes and regulations.
  • Ability to obtain facts that assure that claims information is complete and accurate.
  • Ability to read, assimilate, and recall with marked proficiency facts, figures and descriptions, and to search for and obtain information.
  • Effective verbal and written communication (bilingual – Spanish/English a plus)
  • Ability and willingness to work with other departments, the general public, and other agency personnel, furnishing and obtaining information.
  • Ability to travel by automobile and/or airplane, as needed.
  • Apply problem solving to analytical principles to effectively evaluate claims and leaves of absences processes.
